      Removing stains from carpets
If a BBQ stain has freshly been acquired, the wet stain contents should first be absorbed by a paper towel. Then a solution of detergent in water is applied and blotted. If it does not work, baking soda followed by white vinegar is applied which causes the stain to come to the surface from where it can be blotted away.
If a BBQ stain has dried, it should first be scraped off using a blunt knife and then vacuumed. A commercial carpet cleaner is then applied according to the label instructions. If a BBQ is oily, baking soda can be placed on it to pick the remaining oil in the carpet, after the stain has completely been removed. It is allowed to set for a number of hours and is then vacuumed.

          Coffee stains on your carpet
The coffee stain is blotted with a dry cloth to suck as much liquid as possible. The stain should be blotted starting at its edges and moving towards its center, to prevent spreading it further. A detergent solution is prepared by adding one teaspoon of detergent to a cup of warm water. A dishwashing liquid that is mild in nature is used as a detergent.

              Coffee stains on your carpet
The affected area is sponged with the prepared solution and is then blotted. One volume of white vinegar is mixed with two volumes of water, such that a cup full of solution is prepared. The affected area is sponged with the prepared vinegar solution and is then blotted with a piece of clean cloth. The cloth employed for blotting should be white in color, so that its own dye does not stain the carpet. In order to prevent the stain from spreading, rubbing should be avoided.

Another method that can be employed to remove a coffee stain from a carpet is to moisten it with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide. It is allowed to set for an hour, and is then blotted until the stain disappears. The stained area is then covered with a cloth, on top of which a heavy substance is placed. When the stain is completely vanished, the weight and cloth are removed. The carpet need not be rinsed after this treatment because hydrogen peroxide is converted to water on standing.

To remove mildew from bathtubs, bathroom curtains and tile,
                  make a mixture of:

                  one-half cup vinegar
one-half cup of Borax cleaning detergent
                  2 cups of water.

Pour it on the dirty areas and let it sit for a few minutes, and then scrub with a cloth. If mildew is still visible, use the mixture twice.

To keep cleaning or washing sponges smelling clean and free from bacteria soak them in a weak dilution of lemon juice, vinegar or bleach and water. Sponges can also be placed in a laundry bag and run through the dishwasher for complete cleaning.

Baking soda mixed with water to form a paste and then applied to the sweat stains works great. Leave this on for approximately twenty minutes and then launder as usual. You can also wash clothing in a mixture of laundry detergent and a cup of baking soda to remove stale, stubborn perspiration odor.

The best remedy for removing carpet stains is to remove them before they become stains. Whenever a drink or food item spills on the carpet, immediately remove it with a tissue paper or a cotton cloth. Then you will require less time and effort to remove this stain.

                              Grease Stains:
Sprinkle a generous amount of cornstarch or baby powder over the grease stain, allow it to sit for a couple of minutes, then brush the powder off. The powder absorbs the grease and it brushes off with the powder.

                                Foggy Mirrors and Glass:

Spray a generous amount of good ol' fashioned shaving cream (not gel) onto the mirror or window and rub in with a clean cloth. Use a new clean cloth until all streaks are gone. This will prevent fogging as long as you don't wipe or clean the glass.
