Clean your floors once weekly but dust, sweep or vacuum in between. If it is a high traffic area or the kitchen, clean your floors more often.

If you have gum stuck on clothing, scrape off excess and then use an old toothbrush to brush egg white onto the gum stain. Leave it on for approximately fifteen minutes and then launder normally.

To remove lingering carpet odors from pet feces, sprinkle baking soda on the stain. Let the baking soda sit overnight, and then vacuum.

                          Chocolate Stains

Remove any excess chocolate by either blotting or scraping it off. Flush the stain with club soda. Soaking the stain in milk also works wonders.

Removing stains from rayon, silk and wool

The excess solid is removed by scraping it off by hand or by a blunt tool. The stained area is applied with any dry cleaning solvent. A dry spotter is then applied. A pad of absorbent material that has been moistened with dry spotter is placed against the stain. The pad is replaced by another one as soon as it gets stained. When the stain ceases to be removed, the pad is removed. The stained area is then poured with the dry cleaning solvent and the fabric is allowed to dry.

Removing stains from cotton and nylon
The caked on substance is scraped off the affected fabric. A wet spotter is then applied, starting at the edges of the stain and moving towards the center. The fabric is then rinsed thoroughly and dried. In addition to cotton and nylon, this method can also be employed to remove barbeque stains from other materials like linen, polyester and spandex. Stains should be removed as quickly as possible, to promote faster and easier cleaning.
