    Net curtain-cleaning tip.

Net curtains can be tricky and time consuming to take down and put up again when it comes to cleaning. Instead of using conventional fixings, fit some white Velcro strip to the top of the curtain, the other part of the Velcro strip being fastened to for e.g. the top of the window frame. This enables the curtains to be removed and fitted in seconds.

If the wool rugs have stains or spots, dry carpet cleaning can be used to get rid of them. Spray right on the stains or spots. Blend the solution into it using your hands or a cloth and make sure it’s clean. Do not scrub; just let the foam solution completely dry. Vacuum the entire area to get rid of the dirt and foam.

When you are cleaning wool rugs, you cannot use abrasive soap or detergents, cleaners that contain oxygen. The fibers could be damaged if you used any of the above. They should not remain wet for an extended stretch of time. Quickly remove spills or water. The rug should stay dry at all times.

Cleaning for rugs and carpets involves vacuuming, sweeping, beating, rotating, and making sure that the stains and spots come out of them. When you are preparing to clean them, there are some things that you can and cannot do. Hang up the rugs outside and beat them; as this should only be done once each month, weather permitting. Beat each one a few times to get rid of the stubborn dirt that won’t come out. To keep the sheen in the wool material, use a broom to sweep them one time every week. This helps to get rid of soil and dirt that did not come out before. Sweeping the dirt also helps because it makes vacuuming easier.

If you have bottles of perfume or cologne which you do not care for, don't throw them out. Try putting some in your bath water. The ratio of water to perfume will make for a nice smelling bath!

One common metal that you find at home is copper. Copper is used on many applications and is used in creating a number of alloys. It is used in piping, electrical applications, architecture, and various household products. If you like to keep your copper shiny and bright, here are simple and useful tips. There is a very simple solution when it comes to cleaning copper, when you are afraid to use caustic chemicals. You would simply need lemon juice. If your copper item is small, you can just dip it right into the juice and let it be soaked for a bit. If your item is bigger, you could still do this provided you have a bigger container and more juice. You just have to sponge on the lemon juice. If your copper is a bit tarnished, then you can simply wipe it with a towel soaked in lemon juice.

                        Refrigerator

An open box of baking soda will absorb odors for a month or so. A few drops vanilla extract on a piece of cotton placed in the refrigerator will eliminate odors.

Has your copper tarnished to the point of no return? Don’t throw in the towel just yet! Just mix some lemon juice with salt into a paste-like consistency, dab some of the paste onto a swab and use it as a mild abrasive to restore your copper back to its as-new condition!
