Step1
Go to the Format menu and select Background.
Step2
Select the color you want for the background from the color palette in the Background window. The background you selected will be applied to the page. The view you're in will shift to Online Layout view if you're not already in that view.

In Microsoft word 2007

-Go to Page Layout Tab and then page background
there are three options for page background
1.Watermark
2.page color
3.page border

actually mujhay yeh wala background change karna hai jo grey color main hai ...aap nay jo tareeka bataya hai us say background change hoo jata hai lekan wo jo white area hai vohi change hota hai ...yeh jo andar grey color main hai yeh kesay change karna hai ?

ms word 2007 mein aap Page layout> Page colors > Fill effect ko select karain, iss mein aap picture bhi add kar sakti hain aur 2color background bhi
