    HOME REMEDIES FOR COMMON PROBLEMS:





    1..COMON COLD AND COUGH :-





    Throat irritation and blockage of the nasal passage usually accompanies a cold. It may also be accompanied by a cough which is the secretion of mucus due to infection of the lungs.


    What causes Cold and Cough?


    There is no exact reason for the cold and cough. Its causes can vary for an allergy, influenza, sinusitis or a viral infection. However the most common reasons are:
    • Low immunity
    • Exposure to cold or dust
    • Others irritating inhalations
    • Allergies
    Symptoms of Cold and Cough:
    • Runny nose
    • Secretion of mucus
    • Throat irritation
    Remedies:


    Here are some soothing natural remedies that will help keep you smiling through the cold.


    * Vitamin C rich fruits:



    * Ginger (adrak):

    Cut about 10 grams of ginger in to small pieces and boil in a cup of water, Stain, add a teaspoon of sugar and drink it while hot. Alternatively, ginger tea is also an effective remedy against cold.


    * Garlic (lehsun):

    Garlic is a real immunity booster. Finely chop 2 to 3 cloves of garlic and swallow it like any other medicine. It can also be used raw into salad dressings. Crushing a clove of garlic into soups, stews etc, is also effective and greatly enhances their flavour.


    * Turmeric powder (haldi):

    Turmeric is most effective in curing throat irritation during colds. Fresh turmeric powder and ajwain (carom seeds) mixed in a glass of warm milk taken once or twice a daily is the most useful curative measure.



    Foods to be Avoided:
    • Cold beverages, aerated drinks and ice-creams
    • Deep fried foods
    • Mithai
    Easy pointers to fight Cold and Cough:
    • Consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables as they strengthen the immune system. Try not to cook the vegetables for a long period as it results in loss of nutrients like vitamins B and C.
    • Drink plenty of fluids (water, vegetables soups and fruit juices ) as they help to replenish the fluids lost during the illness.
    • Eat hot and spicy foods. Eating these foods will make your nose run and the mucus will began to clear.
    • Avoid smoking as it aggravates the throat and interferes with the infection-fighting activity of the cells
    • Take rest as it gives your body a better chance to fight the virus.
    • Stay away from dusty environment as that can aggravate the situation.

    2.....Headache :-


    Headache occurs to each individual at some time or the other.


    What caused headaches?

    It has many causes which are physiological or psychological, some of which are listed below.
    • Hypoglycemia i.e low blood sugar levels due to non consumption of food.
    • Stress
    • Allergies
    • Excessive strain on eyes.
    • Lack of vitamins and minerals in the body leading to physical weakness
    • Other illness like sinusitis
    Remedies:-


    * Lemon:
    An equal proportion of lemon and ginger juice when consumed brings instant relief from headache.


    * Turmeric milk:
    One teaspoon of turmeric powder mixed in a glass of milk and boiled for 5 to 10 minutes is an effective remedy against headache.


    * Tulsi (Indian basil):
    Tulsi in combination with lemon is an age-old remedy for headache.


    * Cinnamon ( dalchini):
    A paste made with cinnamon and water should be applied on the forehead 2 to 3 times every day.


    * Ginger (adrak):



    * Cloves (laung):
    A fine mixture of cloves and salt with water or milk is a common cure for headache. Apply the mixture on the forehead twice or thrice daily.


    Foods to be avoided :
    • Tea and coffee
    • Chilled beverages and ice creams
    • Pickles and preserved foods
    • Chocolates

    A Few ways to chase a Headache Away:


    Here are a few that work well for most headaches.
    • Try and restrict the consumption of sugar. Though sugar in small quantities actually helps to cure headaches, excess sugar may trigger a headache or sometimes worsen an already existing one.
    • Avoid smoking as it can aggravate the headache.
    • Indulge in any activity you enjoy. Listen to music, go for a walk or cook.
    • A stress related headache will vanish with a warm oil head massage.

    Kashmiri Khawa:





    Preparation time: A few minutes.
    Boiling time: 10 min
    Serves: 4

    4 teaspoon Kashmiri green tea
    4 pinches saffron
    2 cardamoms (elaichi), slightly crushed
    8 almonds (badam), blanched and chopped
    1 stick cinnamon (dalchini)
    2 cloves (laung)
    2 tablespoons sugar


    Method:
    1. Boil 3 cups of water along with cinnamon, cardamom and cloves and pour over a very low flame.
    2. Meanwhile, dissolve saffron in a little water by rubbing it gently.
    3. Strain the tea and add the saffron liquid together with almonds
    Serve hot.

      3....Pimple/Acne




      What is a pimple/acne?
      A pimpe or acne is a small swelling on the skin containing pus, usually on the face and neck. It usually occurs around puberty.

      Causes for the formation of pimple/acne
      Acne can be a result of hormonal changes during adolescence, skin allergies or even constipation.
      Faulty selection of foods like excessive consumption of starch, sugar or fat in the diet, irregular eating habits.
      Deficiency of vitamin A and zinc are also one of the most prevalent causes of acne/ pimples
      An oily complexion and pollution can worsen the problem.

      Remedies:
      * Black raisins:
      A sherbet made with black raisins, sugar and fennel seeds(saunf) helps to bring quick results as it clean the digestive tract and chases body heat away. See the recipe down.


      * Fruits and vegetables:
      Fruits and vegetables like cucumber, oranges, watermelon, papaya, chickoo, mint, spinach etc are rich in fibre and nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E which help to have a glowing skin.



      A paste made with equal proportions of these three ingredients when applied on the face for 15 ti 20 minutes wil rejuvenate acne prone oily skin.


      * Tomato:



      * Tulsi (Indian basil):
      Applying a mixture of juice of tulsi with lemon or ginger (adrak) will also help to cure pimples with scars.



      Foods to be avoided
      Tea and coffee
      Spicy and oily foods
      Confectionery and mithai
      Full fat dairy products
      Pickles, canned and preserved foods
      Refined foods like maida, sugar, pasta and polished rice
      Creamy salad dressings.


      Suggestions for a Glowing Complexion


      2. Keep your hands away from your face or other affected areas. They ay contain oils and bacteria that could promote acne. Wash your hands frequently.
      3. Avoid greasy creams and cosmetics, especially ones that contain oils and dyes.
      4. Reduce the consumption of junk foods, sugar not more than 4 teaspoons per day
      5. Drink plenty of water.

      Fruits Healer
      This sweet preparation gives a pimple free smooth skin. Consuming this drink regularly even after the pimples disappear, will help you to gain a glowing complexion

      Preparation time: 10 minutes. No cooking
      Makes 1 cup.
      1teablespoon black raisins (kismis)
      1 tablespoon fennel seeds (saunf)
      1 tablespoon sugar
      1 cup water

      Method:
      1. Combine all the ingredients and soak for at least 4 to 6 hours
      2. Liquidise in a blander and drink immediately.

        Wow !! hmm... buht dafaa hum common problems ka itnaa big issue banati hai..... agar app ki batiye hoi batoo ko sochi or amal kari.... so apna ilaaj khood karskti hai bina Dr. ki Fee ka :wk
        mien ny aik printout copy apni pass hai mehafooz rak liaa.... :eye: .... taa ka dosroo ki sat be share karsakoo .. jo iss chuti bemarioo ka ghalat fehmai mein mubtala hai .... :)
