ham loog jo shab-e-baraat manatay hain is ki history kia hai ?
shabe-e -miraaj to Hazroor (p.b.u.h) kay miraaj kay waqeye ko zahir karti hai :) or shab-e-baraat main kia hova tha ???

aur ye sab is liye key shaban key baad Ramadan hai ... so apney aap ko Ramadan key liye tayyar kertey hein....

aur aaj hamain lecture mey ye bhi bataya gaya hai key hamarey poorey saal key A'maal is maheeney mey Allah T'ala key aagey paish kiye jaatey hein.

What does barat means in Arabic, like barat to decor mosques illuminate with light, this is the tradition of ours grandpa' grandpa, the youngers seek such night to wander and play in the name of Ibadat. Some Mushrik lightened with candels over graveyard, so this is the Night of Barat...Allah forgive us.

The Muhaddith, Ibn Dihya, has also agreed that

There is no authentic hadith reported about the 15th night of Sha`ban. The hadiths reported about that night are classified by some scholars as hasan (a hadith which has one reporter in the chain of narrators whose identity is not well known, yet he is not accused of committing great mistakes or lying). Some other scholars have refused these hadiths, calling them unauthentic.

SOME VIRTUES OF THIS NIGHT:

2. The sins of countless people are pardoned.

The hadiths considered as hasan are to the effect that it is recommendable to supplicate Almighty Allah during this night and ask Him for forgiveness. But there is no specific supplication reported to be said in this night. Hence, the supplication that some print and distribute among people in some Muslim countries as being recommendable on this night is not correct and has no basis in Shari`ah.

Of these hadiths is one that is reported by Imam Ahmad and At-Tabarani to the effect that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
But At-Tirmidhi said that Imam Al-Bukhari classified this hadith as weak.has no basis in Shari`ah.

Dr. Muzzamil Siddiqi,(Originally from Pakistan) former President of the Islamic Society of North America stated that :
Surat Al-Qadr
laylat ul-qadr (The Night of Power) not shab-e-barat.

Imam Al-Mundhiri (died in 656 A.H.) in his famous book At-Targhib wat-Tarhib (vol. 2, pp. 116-120) written all things about Shab e barat those are being practising muslims these days in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Iran.

However, there are many practices and customs common in some Muslim countries, such as making a sweet dishes, setting off fireworks, etc. These things have no meaning and no reference in hadiths. There are also some superstitious beliefs about this night. For example, some people believe that the spirits (RooH) of the deceased visit their relatives during this night. Some believe that there is a special tree in Heaven upon whose leaves are the names of all human beings, and whatever leaves drop during this night, those people are destined to die in this year. Some think that the decisions about the life and death of people are made during this night.

ALLAH ta'aalaa haqq ko daikh kar us ko qabool karnay aur uss par amal karnay ki taufeeq ataa farmaayai..
