    Re: Quotations about Smiles.

The first time I see a jogger smiling, I'll consider it.
    Joan Rivers

The last few years have been my happiest. I'm happy in the years that most people are blue and sad and waiting to die. I don't feel that a bit. Smiling has a lot to do with it. You can just lift your spirits by smiling a little bit.

The lowest and vilest alleys of London do not present a more dreadful record of sin than does the smiling and beautiful countryside.

There are so many people that have come up to me during our shows and tell me: "The hour that we are watching your show is the hour that my kids are happiest and are smiling, they are laughing," and that is what I long to do.

There have been times I almost got a persecution complex. I felt like people wouldn't let me grow up. They always saw me as a smiling kid or goofy teenager, no matter how much I'd changed.

We make mistakes, we have our faults, and God knows some of us have more than our share, but when danger threatens and duty calls, we go smiling to our own funeral.

Well, again working strictly to the film, where you had this lovely, lovely land of brightness and color. And everybody is smiling and happy and butterflies flitting around and it was that kind of image that, it was like a dream world, really.

When I look out at the people and they look at me and they're smiling, then I know that I'm loved. That is the time when I have no worries, no problems.

When people are smiling they are most receptive to almost anything you want to teach them.

Woody is the guy who made me want to be a comic. I was in heaven and couldn't stop smiling because he was my idle and 29 years after seeing Take the Money and Run, I was working for him.

Yes, there is plenty of hard work for them in addition to that which they do when they appear, smiling and happy, when the curtain goes up. Giving a performance is the least of their worries.

Your wrinkles either show that you're nasty, cranky, and senile, or that you're always smiling.

A hearty laugh gives one a dry cleaning, while a good cry is a wet wash.
