The Islamic New Year (1st month: Muharram)

The Islamic New Year is an event which Muslims partake on the first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic Calender. Many Muslims use the day in remembrance of the Life of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the Hijra, or emigration, he made to the city now known as Madina.
