I used to be proud to be a Pakistani
The green white and the crescent
I used to be proud to be a Pakistani
Standing for something I knew was pleasant
I used to be proud to be a Pakistani

I stood next to the flag with a smile
Tears ran down and I thought for a while
About how lucky I was to be
In the land of the free
I was a child back at that time
And a little song or a little rhyme
Was all i needed to make me proud

Cause i used to be proud to be a Pakistani
The green the white and the crescent
I used to be proud to be a Pakistani
No its seems just the pleasant
I used to be proud to be a Pakistani

Well years have passed me by
And that innocents that use to cry
        Left some long time ago
When he left I don't really know
        Caught up in crooked politics
This land I loved now made me sick
No longer did I feel so proud

Cause I used to be proud to be a Pakistani
The green the white and the crescent
I used to be proud to be a Pakistani
Now I don't know what is pleasant
I used to proud to be a Pakistani

As I looked at the flag waved high
Something must have got in my eye
        Suddenly something had changed
And finally the truth I had gained
I looked and saw the Pakistani dream
Like the land of the free it finally seemed

And I still am proud to be a Pakistani
        The green, white and crescent
And I still am proud to be a Pakistani
Look at the stars and you feel at the moment
And I still am proud to be a Pakistani

              This is the day,
              that our nation sings
              this is the day,
              we all start to remember
              what we stand for
              and to celebrate our independence
we stand up high, as we
              all start to cry
              as we think about,
              all that died
for you, for me, for our whole country
              risking there life,
each and everyday heres a solute
              to all that lay
ہے الف و لیلہ سی زندگی درپیش
سو جاگتی ہوئی ، اک شہر زاد ہے دل میں

                  And its foundations strong?
What makes it mighty to defy
The foes that round it throng?

It is not gold. Its kingdoms grand
                  Go down in battle shock;
Its shafts are laid on sinking sand,
                  Not on abiding rock.

Is it the sword? Ask the red dust
                  Of empires passed away;
The blood has turned their stones to rust,
                  Their glory to decay.:)

And is it pride? Ah, that bright crown
                  Has seemed to nations sweet;
But God has struck its luster down
                  In ashes at his feet.

Not gold but only men can make
Brave men who work while others sleep,
                  Who dare while others fly...
