I Believe

I believe
in the real
the seen
the unseen
the wonders
fantastical
are real
to me

I'm not blind
to nature
to the beauty
I see
I don't know all
I just know me

I look all around
hear what I hear
taste and sense
and smell my fear
yet all I fear
is what's unknown
so I believe
that truth is sown

we are who we are
can't be someone else
though some would envy
they are themselves
caught in the game
oh yes life is such
full of other names
but we feel it's touch

we believe
in that which we see
that which we know
so such is with me
yet also we believe
in that which is dark
blinded by our wisdom
we still see the spark

we know the fantastical
yet now in our shame
we refuse it's notions
refuse the names
but look all around us
we all do believe
in that which is faith
in that we don't see

I believe in love
in unicorns and such
in dragons and elves
and spirits that touch
I believe in God
yet others do to
they have other names

are we blind to the visions
are we crippled by doubt
or in our quest for knowledge
have we not thought about
the myths of our fathers
are we so caught up in life
we begin to ignore

we all have beliefs
we all make our choice
but it remains hidden
unless we use voice
I believe in me
I believe in you
what matters now
what you believe true.....
