Go ahead, blame the government! Blame them for everything and anything that goes wrong. They are all wrong; always wrong. The rulers, the politicians and the kings are responsible for murders, burglaries, corruption, drug abuse, destrution of the ozone layers, pollution, population , the broken roads, the delayed flights, the daily fights, the lack of facilities, the bribery, the double standards, poverty and not to forget the load-shedding of Gass and electricity.
We simply blame the politicians for whatever goes wrong. Even after an emotionally charged discussion favouring or opposing a certain political party when we get a headache; what do we do? Ofcourse curse 'them' again!! Well, all I whould like to say is that i am a proud PAKISTANI who becomes even more proud after watching my fellow countrymen so conveniently shifting the blame on our old enemy, the Government, irrespective of who is running it. But please it is time to wake up now. We can blame the superpower for our unstable political system and get off the hook. But what about other aspects of our lives? Nobody begged Pakistanis to bribe each other, be corrupt themselves and create double standards. I blame my own nation, myself inclusive, for this horryfying situation.
We call ourselves a poverty sticken third wolrd country. Is it not our own fault????? If we had been bothered about the fact don't you think we'd have a totaly different situation after fifty eight years almost? The truth is that we are a lazy nation. If over 117 million people can not work together to change the situation then nothing is possible. But we prefer our own beauty sleep and lazy evenings that we spend either begging for money or in case of Middle/Upper middle class watching some indian channels on our own dish antennas or on Cabble.
Have we not allowed cultural invasion? We idealize the culture that is not ours and detest our own values. People watch Indian Dramas and Movies all night long, wake up at twelve noon and between the three meals they act luke couch potatoes. This is of the affluent class but what about the poor beggars? Do not pity them either believe me as they have their own TVs which they hide in the daylight and then take out at night.
Our nation no doubt is capable of creating problems for itself. We take little fights to the degrees where small disagreements turn into big fights and result in a feeling of hatred and Vengeance. We do not forgive and never forget. Dozens of people die everyday but does anyone care??? We are all too engrossed in ourselves to take notice of other human being.
Don't you all think that we take our country for granted ??? I think that we do. Everyone from politicians and industrialists to common people extract every pleasure and comfort at the cost of Pakistan. Even if soneone wants to invest, they take their money abroad, get their taxces reduced, enjoy maximum facilities and later complain about ecnomic instability. In case we feel like serving Pakistan we look for a job with a lavish salary, perks etc. Then we simply indulge in leg-puling, apple-polishing anbd back-bithing.
Now simply pass this awesome heritage to the next generation. Teach them the rules of the game and the prevailing cut throat competition, and do not forget to teach them to squeeze every pleasure out of their mother land. This is a pathetic situtaion but yes, there is a ray of hope. There are still people and quite a lot of them who are trying their level best and are still working hard to make our homeland prosperous. So, let us join hands with these concerned people who are still willing to put their lives, honour and pride at stake for their nation. In order to pass a message of peace and peospertioy to future generation let us cherish and take pride in our very own PAKISTAN.
