میں ہوں تیرا خیال ہے اور چاند رات ہے
دل درد سے نڈھال ہے اور چاند رات ہے

آنکھوں میں چبھ گئیں تیری یادوں کی کرچیاں
کندھوں پہ غم کی شال ہے اور چاند رات ہے

دل توڑ کے خموش نظاروں کو کیا ملا ؟
شبنم کا یہ سوال ہے اور چاند رات ہے

پھر تتلیاں سی اڑنے لگیں دشت خواب میں
پھر خواہش وصال ہے اور چاند رات ہے

کمپس کی نہر پر ہے ترا ہاتھ ہاتھ میں
موسم بھی لازوال ہے اور چاند رات ہے

ہر اک کلی نے اوڑھ لیا ماتمی لباس
ہر پھول پر ملال ہے اور چاند رات ہے

میری تو پور پور میں خوشبو سی بس گئی
اس پر تیرا خیال ہے اور چاند رات ہے

چھلکا سا پر رہا ہے وصی وحشتوں کا رنگ
ہر چیز پہ زوال ہے اور چاند رات ہے
