    kya lagay ankh k phir dil main samaya koi
    rat bhar phirta hai is sheher main saya koi

    fikr yeh thi k shab-e-hijr katy gi kiunkar
    lutf yeh k humen yad nah aya koi

    shauq yeh tha k mohabbat main jalen gay chup chap
    ranj yeh k tamasha nah dikhaya koi

    sheher main humdum dereena bhut thay nasir
    waqt parnay peh mere kam nah aya koi

    aay gham-e-hijr-e-yaar,ye tu bata
    kia tujhay koe kaam kaaj nahi!
