I dont really agree with the above article. Yes the priority for a married woman has to be her husbands home and family, however, she still has the right to look after her parents when they are old and in need of ones carea nd attention. Even if she has 10 brothers to look after her parents the haq and the farz that is upon her can never be taken away from her.
Problems arise when the mother needlessly asks the daughter to stay.Also, the in laws need to remember that this girl has had a set of parents before they asked for her hand in marriage, therefore she can't all of a sudden forget them and their needs and focus on the husbands family.
Alot of people will not agree with my point of view above and I think that the article is based on culture NOT on religion. The rights of the parents remain both before and after marraige. Islam is a religion of tolerance and teaches utmost respect to parents regardless of whose parents they are!
