Colon cancer awareness: the Strollin' Colon makes another visit

Have you ever wondered what the inside of a colon looks like? Here's your chance to find out.

On Wednesday, March 11, the Mayo Clinic Cancer Education Center will host a public event with a focus on colon cancer awareness. It will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Cancer Education Center in the lobby of the Gonda Building in Rochester, Minn.

Patients, families and the public are invited to get the latest updates on prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and care of colon cancer.

There will be updates from experts in several areas:

    Nutrition and colon cancer
    Treatment and research
    Exercise for cancer prevention
    Screening and prevention
    Awareness and resources
You'll have the opportunity to walk through a giant inflatable colon and learn more about polyps and colon cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment.

The most important message is about colon cancer screening and your personal risk factors. Exerts and educators will answer questions and provide resources and support.

We'd love to see you and your family in person, but if you can't make it, feel free to share your questions with us here on the blog.
