Fleet of Ships Made of Currency from All Around the World
Artist Susan Stockwell created a large interactive installation in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall in London titled “Sail Away”, featuring hundreds of small boats made from paper money, tickets and maps. Based on ideas of connections through travel, trade and trade routes, mapping and colonial histories, the artist invited visitors to interact with the work by adding their own own ‘Do It Yourself’ boats to the miniature flotilla.
