Re: Guess....who is this little kid??
This picture is of a famous young Pakistani Air force pilot officer 'Rashid Minhas Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider'
He is one of the youngest Pakistani pilot officer got highest Pakistani miltray award 'Nishan-e-Haider'.
Rashid was born on 17th February 1951 in Karachi in a Rajpoot family. He got commission as a pilot officer in Pakistan Air force in March 1971 . On a day of 20th August 1971 around 11.00 a.m Rashid was almost ready to take off on his jet plane T-33 on his 2nd solo fight when a Bangali instructor Flt Lt Matiur Rahman, signalled him to stop plane and then climbed into the instructor's seat. He took off and turned plane towards India. Rashid was being hijacked. In the air, Minhas struggled physically to wrest control from Rahman; each man tried to overpower the other through the mechanically linked flight controls. Some 32 miles (51*km) from the Indian border the jet crashed. Both pilots were killed in that crash. Being a young piolt he has done a remarkable effort to retain himself as well as his plane in side Pakistan boundry and preferred to be a martyr rather then prisoner of India. For his great achievement he has given the highest Pakistani miltray award 'Nishan-e-Haider' in 1971 from Pakistni Government. May Allah peace his soul and reward him in Jannah (Aamen)
