KSE members’ SOS to PM on SECP notices

KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) members have sent an SOS message to the prime minister soliciting his direct intervention into the matter of the issuance of SECP show cause notices.
The brokers here told that the KSE senior members have sent the memo to the prime minister complaining SECP unwarranted harassment of the brokers and sought his direct intervention into the matter by taking notice of the fact.
The memo apprising the PM of the 88 notices issued to the brokers by the SECP said that this matter in spite of its getting several years old, SECP by re-opening it repeatedly harassing the members.
On the other hand, SECP chairman, Raziur Rahman told that these show cause notices have been issued on the violations of the rules and regulations and it was not aimed at harassing the brokers.
