This Test saw 3 Aussie batsmen making hundreds. Clarke's triple ton has been well covered, but special mention must go to Hussey and Ponting. Both of them were under pressure coming into this match and made the best of a bowling attack which was truly uninspired and wayward. Looking at when the match has finished, Clarke could have gone on to surpass Lara's 400 and probably, even some more. But he put the team before himself. Great decision and he will be remembered for quite some time for this act.

Australia have demolished a very weak looking India in this match. Coming into this tour, it was expected that the bowling might not fare well, but what must really upset the fans and the players alike is the fact that the batting crumbled on Day 1 for less than 200. There was a lot of hype surrounding Sachin and Laxman, given their form in SCG. Though Sachin looked in sublime touch, the latter showed a semblance of form only in the second innings. Dravid has looked scratchy in both innings. This is not to discredit the Aussie bowlers who maintained a fuller length and troubled the batsmen with pace and movement. Overall, the picture looks really bleak as far as the Indians are concerned, as the next Test is on a pacy Perth wicket.

Another comprehensive win for Australia. The players appreciate the presence of the sizeable crowd at the SCG. It was Michael Clarke's game all the way. A fine triple hundred and he topped it off with the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar today that triggered the collapse. Ashwin showed a lot of gumption to make a fighting fifty but all he could do was delay the inevitable.

Dhoni: We won in Perth last time we came here. It is a good memory. Past history on a venue does not matter, what matters is what you do in the game on the given day. Everyone in the top 8 has scored a fifty in the two tests. We have to hunt in packs. I don't like to announce the XI beforehand.

Michael Clarke: It was a great win, they made 400 in the second innings, but the wicket had flattened out. Our discipline has what has improved the most. We are getting better at our consistency. Great job by the bowlers. Experience and youth is what you need in any sporting team to achieve success. This is not the only Test match that Huss and Punter have played well. I was as relieved as Punter was when he got to his hundred. Class is always permanent. He has helped me a lot. Every Australian wanted to congratulate him. Sachin's wicket is a really handy one to take. Really happy to score 300 on my home ground. The support from the public has been great. The crowd has given full credit to the Indian team as well.
