Umar Gul: We had to win this, it was my duty to play well and I clicked today. From the last two games I was feeling well, credit to the coach and the captain, they have helped me a lot. The wicket was dry and I was confident of getting some reverse swing going.

Strauss: It went wrong with the bat, we fancied ourselves to chase this but Umar Gul was fantastic. He changed the game in Pakistan's favour, he got the ball to reverse both ways and troubled our batsmen. We will try and learn our lessons from this but credit to Pakistan for defending such a total. We did not want to complicate things by taking the batting powerplay when Wright and Morgan were scoring runs freely, I think the powerplay was not the reason for our loss.

Afridi: I think we played really well and I was sure that my team can win against any side. We were 30-40 runs short, but a good team has to defend small totals and we did it today. Umar was superb, he is a match winner and it was nice to see him play well. All the bowlers pitched in and bowled really well.
