and west is calling it "Freedom of Speech" /angry....

    Jakarta protest
Mr Rasmussen met ambassadors in Copenhagen on Friday - something he had refused to do when the matter arose after the cartoons first appeared in September. Afterwards he said: "Neither the Danish government nor the Danish nation as such can be held responsible for drawings published in a Danish newspaper.

"A Danish government can never apologise on behalf of a free and independent newspaper. This is basically a dispute between some Muslims and a newspaper." He has said the issue has gone beyond Denmark to become a clash between Western free speech and Islamic taboos.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has strongly condemned the publication of newspaper cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

He said such actions would only widen the gap between the West and the Islamic world.
Pakistan's parliament also passed a resolution saying the cartoons had "hurt the faith and feelings of Muslims all over the world".
The cartoons first appeared in a Danish newspaper in September.
Islamic tradition bans depictions of the Prophet and the publication has enraged Muslims worldwide.
President Musharraf said the publication of the cartoons could not be justified in the name of freedom of expression, adding that even moderate Muslims would feel offended by the move. Earlier, the upper house of parliament unanimously condemned the move.

i think FREEDOM OF SPEECH doesnt mean to attack on some RELEGION......by publishing such a stuff they r paying dis-respect 2 our RELEGION n we, Muslims should not allow them 2 do this task easily n freely....if we'll not protest then obviously they feel free 2 do this again.....n could do much more....

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia, Jan 28 (Reuters) - The world's biggest Muslim body on Saturday called on Muslims to stick to peaceful protest in a row over Danish cartoons seen as offensive to the Prophet Mohammad.
The 57-nation Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) said Denmark should have "categorically condemned" cartoons published by Danish paper Jyllands-Posten last September in which the Prophet is shown wearing a turban shaped as a bomb.
Islam considers images of prophets disrespectful and caricatures of them blasphemous.
"We ask members of the Islamic nation to express their opinion in a civilised and peaceful manner and not to fall into mistakes that are not worthy of the Prophet," Secretary-General Ekmelettin Ihsanoglu told reporters in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam and the Prophet Mohammad, recalled its ambassador to Copenhagen this week saying Denmark had not done enough to assuage Muslim anger.
The move came after pressure from Saudi clerics and a popular boycott against Danish goods. Danish-Swedish dairy corporation Arla Foods said stones were thrown at a company car in one incident.
"The failure to categorically condemn the cartoons by the Danish authorities may set a dangerous precedent, which has already been seen in the republication of the cartoons in Norway," an OIC statement said.
Norway said on Thursday it had advised its Middle East embassies to voice regret that an Oslo-based newspaper ran reprints of the cartoons.
After Arab foreign ministers spoke out about the cartoons over a month ago, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen urged Danes in a New Year address to exercise the right to free speech without inciting hatred against Muslims.
