Bomb blasts in Karachi
Security agencies put on high alert KARACHI, Nov. 15 (APP) Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan Tuesday put the security agencies on high alert, directing them to beef up security and revamp three sensitive security zones. He constituted two specialized teams of experts to investigate the bomb blast that killed two persons and wounded 15 others in front of PIDC House at a law and order review meeting held at Governor House today. DIG Investigation Manzoor Mughal and DIG CID Wajid Durrani will head these teams. The meeting was attended by Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui, Information Advisor Salahuddin Haider, City Nazim Mustafa Kamal, Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman, IG Sindh Asad Jahangir, Principal Secretary Saleem Khan besides high civil and military officials.(Posted @ 18:36 PST)
President, Prime Minister condemn bomb blast in Karachi ISLAMABAD, Nov 15 (APP): President General Pervez Musharraf condemned Tuesday morning's bombing incident in Karachi as an act of terrorism and directed the concerned authorities to launch an immediate and thorough investigation into it. "We condemn this dastardly act-whoever is responsible for this should be held accountable in accordance with the law," he said. He asked the concerned authorities to provide the best medical treatment to the injured. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Tuesday also condemned the bomb blast in Karachi and ordered an enquiry into the incident.(Posted @ 18:14 PST)

Cricket-Pakistan want England to play in Karachi despite bomb MULTAN, Pakistan, Nov 15 (Reuters) Pakistan cricket authorities would like England to play a one-day international in Karachi next month despite the bomb blast there on Tuesday. The bomb blast outside a fast food restaurant that killed two people and injured around 15 was close to where the England team is scheduled to stay for the third one-dayer of their tour. "Bomb blasts have been a part and parcel these days and if Australia can play in England after the London blasts and if Sri Lanka can play in India after Delhi blasts then England can play in Karachi," Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan told reporters. "We hope the blast will not affect the tour and we will not take any decisions on the Karachi one-dayer in panic and are in constant touch with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Pakistan government." Three dead, over dozen injured in bomb blast near PIDC KARACHI, Nov 15 (APP) - Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan described the Tuesday morning blast near PIDC House as an act of terrorism. He said that as per reports, it claimed three to four lives. Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad said investigation has just started and those responsible for this heinous act will be brought to justice. Meanwhile, according to official sources one of the deceased was identified as Sher Zaman, a security guard of the adjacent MCB bank branch. Out of the fourteen injured, five were admitted in Civil Hospital and nine in Jinnah Hospital. (Posted @ 11:24 PST)

Blast is act of terrorism: Rauf KARACHI, Nov 15 (APP): Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqi on Tuesday morning visited the site of the bomb blast which claimed the lives of at least three persons besides injuries to 14 others and described it an act of terrorism.He announced a compensation of Rs 200,000 for each of the deceased and free medical care for the injured.
