The mother of a girl who became the subject of an international dispute has dropped her claim for full custody.
Molly Campbell, also known as Misbah Rana, has been living with her father in Pakistan since leaving Scotland last year.
A court in Lahore had ruled that the 12-year-old had to return to her mother Louise Campbell's care.
However, Molly and her father Sajad Ahmed Rana took the case to Pakistan's Supreme Court.
Following the latest hearing, Mrs Campbell's lawyer Nahida Mahboob Ellahi said: "I have made an offer on behalf of my client that she will not insist on full custody provided regular meetings with her daughter take place."
Molly sparked an international manhunt when her mother claimed the girl had been abducted by her father.
But the youngster insisted she went abroad of her own free will after "begging" her sister to take her away.
She has said she prefers life in Lahore to her home in Stornaway in the Western Isles.
Alex Crawford, Sky News Asia correspondent, said the decision had been a surprise because Mrs Campbell had been successful in the preceding rounds of the legal battle.
She said health problems had played a role in convincing her to drop the case.
"It seems very likely that the whole legal process will finish and the parents will agree an out-of-court settlement," she added.
"All I have learned from Life is that I know nothing."
